Around 79% of our employees reside in Parkes, 8% in Forbes, 4% in Peak Hill and the remainder residing in other smaller towns within the Parkes Shire.
Northparkes recognises that its people are its greatest strength. Because of this, all employees participate in a “Working Together Program”. The key objective of the program is to develop team leadership and team membership skills. The program is developed within the context of the Rio Tinto Organisational Models and Methodologies. It is an intensive three day residential program.
As part of an effective workplace, all employees are entitled to feedback on their performance within their role. A comprehensive system of Work Performance Reviews has been introduced to ensure that employees are receiving regular feedback on how they are progressing within their role and how they could further develop.
Northparkes has a constant need to recruit capable and motivated people into its workforce at all levels and across a wide variety of disciples. We have a very active recruitment and selection programme and present opportunities are advertised below.
In the trades area we provide opportunity and support to the youth within the Parkes community, by offering both an Apprenticeship Program and a Graduate Program.
