Dr Craig Stegman

PhD, MScEng, BSc (Hons)

Managing Director

Appointed General Manager of Northparkes in 2007 following previous roles at Northparkes as General Manager-E48 Project, Mining Manager and Manager Surface Operations (open cut and ore processing). Prior to this, Craig was Site Manager and Geology Manager at Peak Gold Mines. Craig has over 24 years experience in the mining industry, starting his career as an exploration geologist working in Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Solomon Islands and Australia. Craig is a member of the Executive Committee of the NSW Minerals Council, Chairman of the Environment and Community committee of the NSWMC, Director of Copper Development Centre, Australia Ltd.

Simon Cameron

General Manager - Operations

Appointed general manager operations at Northparkes in September 2011, prior to this Simon worked at Barrick Gold, Australia Pacific where he was the regional lead of maintenance and engineering for four years. Simon has about 20 years experience in the mining industry. He completed a Marine Engineer Degree at the Australian Maritime College, a Mechanical Engineering Degree and a Masters in Reliability and Risk. Simon is a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia.

Andrew Lye

General Manager Projects

Appointed General Manager Projects at Northparkes in 2009 following previous roles at Northparkes as Manager Operational Support (Exploration and Evaluation, Environment, Health, Safety, Community and Farms), Acting General Manager Underground Operations, Manager Exploration and Evaluation, Manager ESHCF and Exploration Superintendent. Andrew has over 19 years experience in the mining industry, starting his career as an exploration geologist working throughout Australia. Andrew is a member of the Exploration Working Group with the NSW Minerals Council and a member of the Small Working Group to the NSW Minerals Ministerial Advisory Council.

Elton Peebles

Manager Mining

Elton joined Northparkes in 2006, with responsbility for mining activities for the Lift 2N and E48 underground mines.

Elton has over 15 years experience working in the mining industry throughout NSW, QLD and SA in technical, operational and management roles. Prior to joining Northparkes Elton had extensive management experience within the mining industry including Development Superintendent at George Fisher Mine in QLD and Production Manager at Olympic Dam Mine in SA. Elton holds statutory mine management qualifications in QLD, SA and NSW.

Manager - Ore Processing and Logistics

Appointed manager Ore Processing and Logistics at Northparkes in February 2011. Prior to this Anthony was the principal advisor HSE systems implementation with Rio Tinto's corporate function for health, safety, environment and communities (HSEC). Anthony has more than 10 years global experience in Rio Tinto, having worked in processing and business improvement roles in Aluminium, Copper, Technology and Innovation and the Corporate HSEC function. Anthony has a MSc in Chemistry, and is a Six Sigma black belt (business improvement methodology).

Matthew Betts

B.E. (Mech.) Sydney University

Manager Engineering

Appointed Engineering Manager in 2007 following previous roles at Northparkes as UG Maintenance Superintendent and Lift 2 Project Engineer. Matthew has over 16 years experience working in the mining, engineering and construction industries. Prior to Northparkes Matthew worked for a number of engineering and construction companies, including Transfield, GRD Minproc and SNC-Lavalin on the design of mineral processing plants and power generation facilities throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Rob Cunningham

Grd Dip Eng (Mining) UNSW

Manager Surface Mining

Appointed Surface Mining Manager in February 2010, prior to the current position Rob was the Surface Mining Production Superintendent and Underground Production Superintendent. He has over 16 years mining and processing experience. Rob completed a Diploma of Mining Engineering in 2006 and achieved a Below Ground Production Managers Certificate in 2007. Rob was recruited to the Surface Mining team in 2008 and achieved his Above Ground Production Managers Certificate later that year. Rob had an electrical background prior to commencing his career in mining.

 

Kerrie Edwards

B.App Sci (Resource Management)

Manager Environment, Safety, Health, Community and Farms

Promoted to the position in late 2009. Prior to this Kerrie held various Superintendent roles within the ESHCF Department. She has 15 years experience in the mining industry, including a variety of commodities such as iron ore, gold and copper. More recently Kerrie has added Health, Safety and Community to her portfolio.

Jacques Labuschagne

B.Comm

Manager Commercial

Appointed to the Commercial Manager in 2010. Prior to this Jacques was Business Services Superintendant at Northparkes. He has over fifteen years mining related experience. Jacques started his career with Rio Tinto's Rossing Uranium mine in various financial roles in the operation. Jacques also lead the finance team at the Rossing Foundation the social responsibility arm of Rossing Uranium.

Adele Bintley

Manager - People and Capability Development

Promoted to the position in early 2010. Prior to this Adele was Human Resources Superintendent at Northparkes. Adele has over 20 years experience in the resource sector. She has worked in corporate HR and business development, as well as both fly in / fly out and residential roles. Adeles experience in change management, indigenous employment programs and professional coaching provides value across her generalist HR skills. Adele is a member of the local Rotary Club, as well as being a supporter of several charities.

During a genuinely difficult period for the mining industry, management and staff of Northparkes should be commended for their resilience, enterprise and holistic approach to land management and responsible water use. Cr Ken Keith, Mayor of Parkes Shire.
